Essays
Scholarly essays and creative nonfiction to enhance our understanding and appreciation of blood and human experiences of health, healing, and disease
About Essays
This section is edited by Dr. Charles Bardes and Dr. Kristin LaFollette, and the essays are composed by medical professionals (including residents and established physicians), scholars, and writers at all levels. The goal of this section is to highlight the connections between the humanities (e.g., art, history, culture, gender, religion) and medicine (and, in particular, blood and hematology) and, as a result, emphasize the importance of a holistic, human-centered approach to patient care.
